Ranch House is a kitschy Western-themed country diner with fresh food and great service. We were pleasantly surprised! Plus the menu prices are some of the lowest I've seen, too low really. Their $3.99 breakfast special is a crazy good deal...2 fresh eggs, hashed browns, bacon or sausage and toast or biscuit and gravy. Sausage had good flavor, eggs just right, hashed browns needed more cook time, rye toast delicious. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy, biscuit small, nothing special, but the gravy was super creamy, extra peppery and delicious. Only $1.69 for two and with a soup bowl full of gravy!
Crowd is a mix of locals and travelers, young and old alike, a few even in cowboy hats. We loved the Western rustic cabin theme, with vaulted ceiling, lots of wood and wagon wheel lights. Felt like being in old Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
They also keep the place very clean. My complaints are an annoying lingering cigarette smell and most of the chairs had torn apolstery. Service is very friendly. Our serve "JC" (as written on our receipt) was a doll.
It's too bad they just reduced their hours to only 2 pm on every day except Friday. We want to come back and try dinner. If they would increase their prices a little they might keep normal hours. If one were staying at the attached motel and found them closed at 2 pm it would be disappointing.
Two Eggs, 2 strips of Bacon, Hash browns AND a biscuit w/ gravy (or toast) for $3.99...are you outta your mind???
We decided to eat here after spending the night at the adjoining lodge, worth 5 stars as well, and I was a little bit skeptical as to the quality of the food, especially with the prices being so low.
I settled on the breakfast above, my traveling companion (Gangsta Auntie w/ the nice hands) had the French toast and added bacon for a total of $4.99.
Everything was served hot and the ingredients were FRESH...the only thing canned here folks was the Coke. I asked them to put my gravy on the side, just in case it was the canned variety but they surprised me by serving up the homemade stuff that your Meemaw would make. I regretted not getting some to-go.
Eggs were cooked to order, hash browns were nice and crisp, there was no part of my meal that I did not enjoy...that includes the service. Our waitress was prompt and hospitable, tending to all of our needs.
A must stop for travelers if you find yourself in this neck of the woods.
This is a little jewel hidden away off the turner turnpike. Great service and a very nice hand breaded fried steak with delicious homemade mashed potatoes with a cream gravy.
I will stop by again when I am in the area.
Stop in here because we were told this is the only sit-down restaurant in the area nothing good about it stay away save your money go to McDonald's and get a McGriddle the steak was undercooked had to send it back eggs were cold hash browns barely cooked the only thing they had good with the bacon. And most of the staff acted like we were an inconvenience for being there like oh you want ketchup here you go enough said have a great day
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this place. From the outside it just looks like a little country diner inside a hotel. When you step inside it's quite spacious and decorated to please....that is if you like the real wood, barn house type of look! I thought it was near myself, reminded me of bass pro or something out of a hallmark Christmas movie. In addition to the decor the staff was very nice and the food was good down home country. The brought my dad a banana cake with a candle for his birthday and sang to him. We had a great time and will definitely return.
